Farmers Market Update, 7.18.24

 Good day to all the Farmers Market Faithful!  Welcome to my little corner of produce proliferations!  The train keeps chugging and new friends keep jumping on board.  With several additions to our availability this week.  From Grapes to Peppers and fresh Beans to Mangos, we’re ready for it all!  We got a nice break in the weather this week which will hopefully help our farmers’ crops and volume.  Several stone fruit purveyors had dips in their volume, limiting our options on plums and pluots, and restricting our numbers in the peach game.  Fear not my friends, we’re still bringing you the best that the market has to offer.

It’s that time! Fresh shelling beans are ready to be enjoyed from 2 Peas in a Pod.  Cranberry, Cannellini, Coco, and even the whole pod edible Dragon Tongue!  Grapes at Murray Family Farms are here.  With so many varieties to choose from, the Thomcords are what I was snacking on yesterday.  How do you know we’re in the thick of the summer, besides the unbearable heat?  Peppers!!!  Poblano, Anaheim, Padron, Jalapeno, Italian Frying, Nardello’s, Fresno, you name it, we’ll find it!  Wong farms returned this week with their outstanding Golden Lady mango variety.  I cannot guarantee their volume at this point, as numbers are extremely limited, and if you’ve had one, you know why!  So get those pre-orders in early!  In another few weeks they’ll have the crown jewel mango variety, the Valencia Pride.
