This week we said goodbye to Regier Family Farm who has been supplying us with most of our peaches this season. We grabbed the last of what they have and are now bringing in our volume from Tenerelli Orchards. Both have been amazing this year, but we only have a few weeks left of these beautiful fuzzy treats. Melons as well will be going away in a few weeks as we make way for all of the beautiful fall products that will begin. Many of which have already started as we’re elbows deep in Delicata and Honeynut squash just to name a few. The Cayenne peppers at Coleman Farms has us still feeling the heat of summer, and their Mouse Melons are still going strong. Jujube’s and Ginger along with red and green mizuna filled the table at Her Produce this week. Pears and apples have also stepped up their game as Terry Ranch had some delicious Asian Pears, and both Cuyama Orchard and Cirone Farms brought several different varieties of apples this week. Brussels sprouts, both green and red were spotted on the tables of 2 Peas in a Pod as well as Milliken Farms. We hit an intermittent gap on the production of Mixed Salanova’s this week, but should be back to our usual pars after the Wednesday market next week. All in all, it’s shaping up to be a beautiful bounty of fall produce as the weather gets cooler.

HOW MUCH WE HAVE | DESCRIPTION, PACK SIZE, ITEM CODE | FARM | INFORMATION |
126 FL | PEACHES, YELLOW fl (18241) | REGIER FAMILY FARM | These Yellow Freestone Peaches are truly spectacular right now. They’re eating even better than the previous “O’Henry Peaches”. Amazing balance. The best we’ve had this summer. |
35 FL | PEAR, WARREN (08887) | FROG HOLLOW | They’re back!!!! Everyone’s favorite pear. This is Frog Hollow Farm’s signature pear and for good reason. It’s too difficult to grow for most farmers, so it has never caught on commercially. But Farmer Al has never shied away from putting the time and effort into a fruit that tastes so good. |
31 CS | LETTUCE, LITTLE GEM (GREEN) (18250) | THE GARDEN OF | The small, robust green heads are perfect for individual salads, and its firm upright habit makes it great for sandwiches as well. An heirloom all-star. The crowning (Gem) of every plate. |
13 FL | NECTARINE, YELLOW fl (18240) | REGIER FAMILY FARM | If peaches were cats, this would be the hairless variety, or you could just say it’s a peach without fuzz. “Tomato tomato”. |
4 FL | PLUOT, FLAVOR RICH (18228) | SCOTT FARMS | There’s a reason it’s called “Flavor Rich”. Strong plum flavors balanced by the nuanced apricot addition. Juicy and delicious! |
4 FL | PLUOTS, SEPTEMBER YUMMY fl (20591) | SCOTT FARMS | The September Yummy® plum is comparable to the Santa Rosa plum in most all regards, but lacks the bitterness at the stone and skin. Its smooth surface is speckled red and green developing into a deep ruby when fully ripe. The interior flesh is a creamy golden color with a firm, slightly crunchy texture. It is extremely juicy when ripe with relatively low acidity, offering candy-like flavors reminiscent of fruit punch and juicy fruit gum. |
6 FL | TOMATO, SUNGOLD fl (18333) | YERBA BUENA | Little globes of “pop in your mouth tomatoey greatness”. Amazing balance of sweet and acidity that is at the peak of its season. |
