Farmers Market Update, 08.15.24

Good-day gracious guests! The summer sizzles in Southern California, showcasing a sensational selection of sun-ripened succulent stone fruits and savory squash! From crisp cucumbers to colorful carrots, and countless other crops complimenting creative creations culinarily.  Perfectly picked peaches, plums, and pluots providing proper pre-planning to prevent poor performance pertaining to prep and pre-service.  Venture voraciously to view a vibrant variety of various vegetables.  Don’t delay, we deliver delightful dragon-fruit and dragon-tongue beans, dishing out delectables driven directly to your door.

Beans, berries, and basil, oh my!  Haricot vert beans, fresh shelling beans, and yellow wax beans are in prime season waiting to jump into your kitchen. We’ve got lots of different varieties to choose from right now. Holy cow, you wanna hear about berries?! The blackberries we’re getting at Finley farms are huge, juicy and delicious!  The raspberries at 2 Peas in a Pod bring a spectrum of different colors (red, yellow, and orange) and the flavor is peak season right now. So many farms are harvesting some truly stunning varieties of basil, including Thai, lemon, and opal. They contribute to the aromatics of walking the market, which is an intoxicating blend of comfort and exploration.  Following your nose through the fragrance of the cilantro blossoms, passing the smell of ripe peaches, and passing the numerous stands displaying their tomatoes is a welcome introduction to anyone walking the market.  With all the wonderful insanity that is stone fruit season, it’s crazy to see the winter squashes showing up at the market.  I saw delicata, butternut, and kabocha squashes.

With so much great produce all at one time, we are truly blessed to have the World’s best farmers Market right at our fingertips.  Let us be your sherpa/shopper/sales friend, as we traverse the delectable trail of the farmer’s market.  Any questions you may have, we are a simple email away, ready to help in any way we can.  We love our farmers, and we love helping you enjoy their harvest.  Have a great rest of your day!
