Fruit: Peaches and Nectarines are all but finished; quality is mediocre; single layer Washington apricots remain good in quality although expensive; figs are still strong but we expect them to come to an abrupt halt when the weather gets colder… |
Tomato
Report: Prices on round tomatoes are all heating up as Northern California fruit dries up. Roma tomato supplies are very short; prices are on the rise. Grape Tomatoes: Prices remain low. Cherry Tomatoes: Quality is good; prices are unchanged. Heirloom Tomatoes: Varieties are limited and prices are firming up. Cluster tomato prices remain low.... |

Lettuce
Report: Growers are fighting quality and weight issues; Iceberg prices are moving up; Romaine prices are also on the move; Greenleaf and Redleaf are a relative bargain. Spinach quality is good; prices are unchanged...

News: Strawberry pricing is up in response to cold and wet weather; Long Stem Strawberries are all sizing small; bigger fruit will not be available until the growers move south. Black, Blue, and Raspberries are in short supply; prices are strong.... |
Fruit
Report: Apples: Washington is shipping new crop; varieties include Braeburn, Gala, Fuji, Honeycrisp, Jonathan, Jonagold, Macintosh, and Pink Lady. Avocados: We got our last shipment of California fruit; we will be shipping primarily Chilean Fruit by the end of the week; prices are strong. Citrus: Texas Grapefruit is now available; Lemon and Lime prices are easing up. California Valencia’s are good; Texas Juicing Oranges are about a week away. Grapes: California is winding down; Green grape quality is suspect. Cantaloupes and Honeydews short; prices are up. Watermelon prices are heating up again; quality is mediocre. Pineapples supplies are beginning to loosen up; prices are off. Washington Bosc and D’anjou pears are here..... |

Report: Artichokes: Choke supplies and prices are unchanged. Asparagus: Prices began to recede but are starting to rebound. Blue Lake Beans: Beans are gapping as California winds down and Mexico has too few to take up the slack. Broccoli: Prices remain firm; product is short. Cauliflower: Availability also tight; prices are heading up. Celery: Prices are down. Cabbage: Green Cabbage is down; Red is unchanged. Carrots: No change in prices. Corn: Corn is winding down; White is particularly short and prices are up. Cucumbers: Supply is better; prices are unchanged. Eggplant: Quality is still good; prices are unchanged. Onions: Brown, red, and white onions prices are low. Peppers: Green, Red and Gold bell pepper quality remains good; prices are unchanged. Zucchini: Product is in good supply; quality is good and prices are low. Straightneck; No changes; quality so good and prices unchanged; Gold Zucchini is in good supply and quality is good; prices are low... |
