Specialty: Eight Ball Round squash is available; Lychee nuts and Rambutan are available now; lychee nuts are on the green side but very sweet while rambutan has excellent color and texture; both of these tropical fruits are as sweet as can be.


Stone Fruit: New crop Washington Cherries are in; quality is very nice; Rainier’s are in too but very expensive; better pricing will be available next week. Pluot varieties include Dapple Dandy and Mango-Nectarine…


Tomato Report: Prices on 2 layer tomatoes are up. Roma tomatoes are unchanged. Grape Tomatoes: Supply is still good and prices remain low. Cherry Tomatoes: Quality is excellent; prices are off. Heirloom Tomatoes: Supply is very short; color is a little green; prices are high. Supplies of teardrops and cluster tomatoes are heavy; prices are very affordable....


Lettuce Report:
Growers are trying to prop up fob prices but to no avail; Iceberg and leaf remains long and quality excellent; price are still in the summertime lows...


Berry News: Strawberries: Light production is causing prices on strawberries to edge back up. Blackberries are extremely short; quality is mediocre and prices are up; Blueberries, and Raspberries are in much better shape; prices remain reasonable. New crop Black Currants have started, red ones will be soon to follow....


Fruit Report: Avocados: Increased shipping demand is causing local markets to rise. Citrus: Grapefruit prices are unchanged; Lemon prices are down on smaller sizes. No change in Lime pricing. California Valencia’s are very good; prices are unchanged. Figs: Brown Turkish and black Mission figs are plentiful; quality is excellent. Grapes: California Black, Red, and Green seedless are very good, prices are down; Champagnes have started but are very high priced. Cantaloupe prices are unchanged; quality remains good. Honeydew prices have leveled off. Watermelon prices are down, yellow seedless are also available. We are featuring Tuscan Sweet and Pureheart petite watermelons from Dulcinea; quality is excellent.....

Vegetable Report: Artichokes: Small loose chokes are very short, prices are up again. Asparagus: Prices are stable; new crop Mexican and Peruvian jumbos are sizing small. Blue Lake Beans: Quality is good and prices are low. Broccoli: Prices remain low. Cauliflower: Prices are up as growers deal with heat related quality issues. Celery: Prices are cheap. Cabbage: No change in pricing. Carrots: Prices are off again as supply gets back to normal. Corn: Northern growers are shipping; prices are heading downward and quality is very good. Cucumbers: Supply remains long and prices are steady. Eggplant: Globe Eggplant is good; prices are unchanged. Onions: Brown onions are on the rise again; prices will remain strong for at least two more weeks; no change in reds or whites. Peppers: Green bells are steady; Red and Gold prices are still low. Zucchini: Prices are low. Straightneck is in good supply; prices are low; Gold Zucchini is very nice; prices are low...
