and Long Stem Strawberries: Quality is good and berry size is large; prices are steady. Raspberries: Supply is good; prices are unchanged. Blueberries: Supplies are better this week: prices have leveled off. Blackberries: Supplies remain short this week; prices are strong…



TOMATO UPDATE:
Two Layer Repack Tomatoes and Loose Tomatoes: The market remains flat on everything; Florida is still short and prices are firm on large loose. Cluster Tomatoes: Supplies are surplus; prices are low. Cherry Tomatoes: Supplies are good; prices are unchanged. Grape Tomatoes: Prices remain low; quality is excellent. Roma Tomatoes: Prices have leveled and should stay stable throughout the week. Teardrops: Prices remain high and supplies are still short. Heirloom Tomatoes: Supplies are light; prices remain high…

FRESH FRUITS: California Haas Avocados: Prices are steady; quality is good. Cantaloupes: Prices are up slightly; quality is very good. Honeydews: Quality is excellent; prices are unchanged. Mixed Melons: Good supplies of Orange Dews, Casaba, and Crenshaw; large sizes, prices are low. Green and Red Grapes: New crop fruit; prices remain firm. Oranges: No change in prices. Grapefruit: California Rio Stars are nice and there is no change in price. Lemons: Prices are up again; supplies are very light. Limes: No change in price. Hawaiian Papayas: Supplies are better; prices are still high. Apricots, Nectarines and Peaches: California tree fruit supplies are improving; sizes are getting bigger; prices are leveling off; Donut Peaches are in; quality is excellent; cots are mediocre at best. Plums: Red plums and black plums are plentiful and size is improving; pluots and dinosaur plums should be more readily available this week; elephant heart should start in mid July. Cherries: California is done and Washington is just starting; quality is mediocre and prices are high. There are good supplies of Apples, Kiwi’s, Gold Kiwi’s, Mangoes, and Pears . . .


FRESH VEGETABLES: Artichokes: Supplies are better; prices are unchanged. Asparagus: California is shipping again; quality is excellent and prices are low; jumbo has come off too. Bok Choy and Napa Cabbage: Napa and Bok Choy are very short; prices are up. Blue Lake Beans: Hot weather is burning them up; prices are firm. Broccoli: Prices have leveled off and are heading back down. Cauliflower: Mirroring brocco9i, prices are low. Cabbage: Supply is good; prices are unchanged. Celery: Celery is still a problem; prices are up again. Cucumbers: No change: prices are low and quality is good. Eggplant: No change here either, prices are low. Red Onions: Prices are unchanged. Yellow Onions: New crop, prices are a little higher. White Onions: Prices are the same. Potatoes: Big potatoes are short; pricing is strong. Kale, Curly Parsley and Italian Parsley: Italian parsley supply is better; prices have finally come down. Green, Red, and Gold Bell Peppers: Green remains relatively low; red and gold are having all kinds of problems; prices are up dramatically. Green Zucchini: Warm weather is keeping the supply chain full; prices are low. Gold Zucchini: Quality is excellent; prices are unchanged. Yellow Straightneck: Supply is extremely light; prices are up. Baby Squashes: Prices were so low last week that growers have depleted their inventory; prices are up on fresh product. French Beans and Yellow Wax: Supplies are heavy; prices are low. There are good supplies of Chard, Carrots, Snow Peas, and English Peas...

As with all fresh fruits and vegetables, the market could change daily . . .
